Monday Moodboard

Since today is Monday, well it is here in Australia, I am in desperate need of some inspiration to get me through the week! Mondays are always so slow but luckily for me I have a free period every Monday, so I only have three classes on Mondays which is better than the usual four (Thursdays are even better because I have two classes and two free periods).

Today I am dreaming of Californian beaches, black and white and New York City. Just this morning I decided that I want to live in a gorgeous building in New York City, just like the picture above. New York has been my dream since I was 15 and since then it has shifted to California but now I'm not sure which one I prefer! If all goes according to plan, I'll hopefully live in New York for a bit and then settle down in Los Angeles.

I hope you have a good week!

Legally Blonde the Musical

Today my sister, grandmother and myself went over to The Lyric Theatre at The Star Casino and Hotel down at Darling Harbour in the city to see Legally Blonde the Musical! It was such an amazing show and the cast was just fabulous. Lucy Durack starred as Elle Woods and she was fantastic. As you can see from the photo below, we had seats on the Dress Circle level and we had a perfect view.

What I wore:

Dress: Angel Biba @ Princess Polly
Shoes: Morocco from Rubi Shoes
Trench Coat: Avocado
Bag: Louis Vuitton Speedy
Geode Ring: Colette by Colette Hayman
3 Band ring: Topshop
Necklace: Colette by Colette Hayman
Nail polish: Topshop "Ice crush"

I love this outfit, especially the shoes! They are sky high and super comfy. The rings are also some of my new favourite accessories.

On another extremely exciting note, I got my provisional driver's licence on Friday! It basically means that the state of New South Wales has declared me safe enough to drive by myself, with no parental supervision! I am still in a state of shock and excitement. I was told that it is hard to pass first time and I was so nervous, I was literally shaking all day! But, alas, I passed with flying colours, only making two minor errors and therefore receiving a total of 98%.

State Dance Competition

Tonight I had my State Dance Competition, where my dance school was competing against some other RSL dance schools from all over the state. It was so much fun and we did very well! We got first in Ballet, Tap and Senior Entertainment (which is kind of like a lip sync musical dance number which we did Chicago) and Highly Commended in Jazz.

I am so happy for everyone in my dance school and am mostly happy with the results, after all we were aiming for all firsts but there's always next year!

I didn't manage to take photos of all my costumes because there's was hardly any time to. The changes in between dances were quite rushed and with all the stocking changes, make up touches, costume changes, pinning, tucking, hair accessories and shoe changes, I barely had enough time to breathe! However, I did get one before Senior Entertainment. This is a photo of me and my best friend Mel before we went on for Chicago.

We have an annual end of year concert in December so I will make sure to take photos of all my costumes then.

I absolutely love Dance Comp day, or in this year's case- Dance Comp night! I have been competing in these for about 12 years and I never get sick of it! I am always so stressed and I freak out a lot on these days but they are so much fun. I love being on stage and although the stage lights gave me a headache this year, it is one of my favourite things in the world to be up on stage, dancing and just having a blast. Plus, I love getting dolled up in my stage make up and my fun costumes.

Shopping in the city

Today after school I went shopping with Emma in the CBD. We went back to Topshop to go through everything properly and take it all in with a lot less people. I only spotted about three to seven things that were there at the launch, so the stock is clearing out fast! Topshop Sydney is a hit and it seems that Sydneysiders cannot get enough of the London fashion giant.

I bought this ring because I loved how different it is in comparison to conventional rings. I don't own any other rings like this and I am so excited to wear it soon.

This nail polish is divine! I love how sparkly and fun it is and I cannot wait to try it out. Unfortunately, that won't be for a little while as I can't wear nail polish during the school term so I have to wait until the holiday break.

This jumper is quite different to the things I usually wear which is why I like it. The stones that form the cross are so glittery and gorgeous. I love the grey colour and the dip dye effect. This jumper is also extremely soft and super comfortable. It's also quite baggy on me as they didn't have my size and therefore I had to get the next size up.

My next stop was Rubi Shoes in the Pitt Street Westfield. I was in need of some cool new shoes and I think my mission was successful.

I bought this gorgeous pair as I think that they will be perfect for summer! The neutral colour will mean that they can be worn with a whole range of outfits. They are also really comfortable.

I have been looking for boots like this since what feels like eons and I new these were the ones the second that I saw them. The colour is really nice and the heel height is the perfect height for all day use.

We also stopped over at Ladurée because the line was very short. I bought some Salted Caramel, Chocolate and Vanilla macarons and I am currently eating them now and they are just as amazing as I remember them! Just waiting in line for these gorgeous delicacies reminded me of being back in Paris and buying macarons from the Ladurée store in Saint-Germain-de-Prés.

The last stop was Dymocks on George Street. I immediately hotfooted it to my favourite section of the multi-level store- the Fashion section.

I picked up two books: "100 Unforgettable Dresses" and "100 Ideas That Changed Fashion." I love fashion books and have built up quite a collection over the past couple of years.

That is all from my successful three hour after school shopping mission!

Hanging out on Sydney Harbour

On Sunday, my family took two other families out with us on my grandfather's boat. He has owned the boat forever, I have basically grown up on it and I love it! Everyone in my family sails (my grandfather was the world champion at one stage in his life) and it is nice to be a part of a family tradition.

We sailed out to the ANZAC Bridge, the Harbour Bridge and out to the eastern suburbs and up to the headlands. It was a really chilled and relaxed day and although I got sunburnt, I had a nice time.

What I wore:

Top: Esprit
Jeans: MNG
Shoes: Vans
Sunglasses: Prada
Rings: Topshop
Bracelet: present from my grandmother
Necklace: Diva

I took these photos of the docks where my grandfather's boat is moored. It is a really historic part of my suburb and it is absolutely beautiful.

The bottom photo was taking after we left the docks and sailed out towards the city.

Hope you all had enjoyable weekends.

Dinner in Sydney City

On Friday night, my family and I had dinner down on the Harbour with an American family who were visiting for a few days.

What I wore:

Shirt: Esprit
Jeans: Gap
Bag: vintage Chanel from the 1970's with an Hermès scarf
Necklace: 18th Century locket

I love this outfit and because of the unseasonably cold day, I was able to break out the winter clothes! These boots are relatively comfortable and even though I have wide feet, I can still fit them without bursting the seams. As for the bag; it is a classic! My grandmother bought this bag from Chanel in the 1970's, and while she refuses to call it vintage, I have no hesitation in doing so. I also had this Hermès scarf lying around and think the colours complement the bag really nicely.

We started at The Rocks and walked around to the Opera House and dad acted as a tour guide for the Americans we were with. We ate at a chinese restaurant at the Opera Key arcade and we sat outside even though it was quite cold. Thank goodness for those outdoor gas heaters! The food was great and the view was superb! Looking at these pictures makes me wonder why I am so desperate to get out of here, Sydney is actually a really beautiful city and I'm sure I'll miss it when I'm gone.

My iPhone 4S recently updated to get the iPhone 5 software, so I tested out the Panorama option and this is one of my more successful attempts.

On an exciting note, my blog has now got over 50 followers! I am so thrilled! You guys are the best, and I hope you continue to read my blog!
