{Citrine Ring}

This is without a doubt one of my favourite rings that I own. It is a clear, beautiful, decent-sized citrine set in a 925 silver ring.

I love this ring so much and I have received quite a few complements when I wear it. I bought it for $60, a bargain in my eyes, from a local fair a few years ago. I was instantly drawn to it and could not leave without buying it. The women who made it had a whole stall full of gorgeous, bespoke pieces like this.

Hope you're all having a fab week!

I'm going to the Topshop and Topman Sydney Launch!

Hi lovelies!

I am beyond excited that my invite to the Topshop and Topman Sydney Launch finally arrived in the mail today!

I have known for a while that I was on the guest list but it hasn't really hit me until today. It is going to be held on the 3rd of October which is in a week from today at the Gowings Building in the city. The store officially opens to the public on the 4th of October (my birthday!) so all of you Sydneysiders can check it out then and any day afterwards.

A few people have been asking me about how I got an invite to the launch. It was through a personal connection and it has nothing to do with my fashion blog.

{Lunch with a local family}

Dress: Ice design
Denim shirt: Bardot
Shoes: Emerson
Sunglasses: Prada
Bag: Mulberry
Necklace: Present
Bracelets: Presents from various people
Ring: Butler & Wilson

This was taken a while back but I thought I may as well put it on here.

This was around the beginning of August and it was unseasonably hot for the last month of Winter. I fell in love with this dress when I saw it a few years back and knew I had to have it! You can never go wrong with a classic white dress.

The shoes were really comfortable and I got them from mum after she bought them and decided that same day that she didn't actually want them. So hey, free shoes, what's not to love.

The sunglasses are my all time favourite sunglasses! I got them in New York City, Sunglass Hut on Bleecker St in the Village and I love them to death! I bought them for a cool $355 but it was absolutely worth it. Aren't they just gorgeous?! I do worry when I wear them but that still doesn't stop me from wearing them as much as I can, despite my paranoia.

I also love this Mulberry clutch I got for my 16th birthday. The colour is so beautiful and versatile, I use it all the time.

This necklace is probably one of my absolute favourites! It was a present I got for my 16th from my beautiful best friend Mel. I love it. Plus, it doubles as an accessory and Identification for when I'm out with Emma somewhere that we are likely to meet people who will easily confuse us.

Lots of love,

{Summer in the suburbs}

Dress: French Connection
Shoes: Corelli
Cross Bracelet: Sportsgirl
Nail Polish: Chanel Delight

I spent the afternoon at my cousin Josh's fifth birthday party with the family. The weather was warm, which was a welcome change from the bitterly cold winter that we experienced here in Sydney this year. We are definitely in for a hot summer.

This maxi dress actually belongs to my lovely twin sister Emma and she was very generous to let me wear it today. She got it last year from the outlets and it is the perfect wardrobe staple for every summer. With the dress being black, it is easy to accessorise with simple jewellery and black sandals, as I have done here. The stretchy top and long skirt combination is super comfortable too. Plus, it can be worn during the day as well as at night. Although it looks heavy and insulating, the cotton fabric is surprising light and breezy, making it perfect for summer usage. How gorgeous is the pattern on the bodice! I love the colours, they are so bright and fun!

Sidenote: Next time I post, I will hopefully be the-style-evolution.blogspot.com. I am changing the URL of this blog so everything will still be here. I just felt like I wanted a more appropriate URL for my personal fashion blog. I would have changed it already but I have been unable due to Blogger being under maintenance and not letting me change it just yet. It should be up and running next week though. Alas, I will still be the same blog, just with a different, better URL!

Friday musings

{All images are from Tumblr}

Happy friday my loves! Hope you guys had an enjoyable week.

My week consisted of four exams and a day off which was great! My Design and Technology exam, Maths exam and Modern History exams went very well but my French exam, not so good!

After my exams, I finished around 10:30am and got home around 11:30am and lay out in my backyard for a while, hoping to get a slight pre-summer tan. My mission proved successful as I am starting to see a faint bikini line.

I have a three day weekend ahead of me before my final exam on Tuesday morning. Next week is my last week of school and then I'm on holidays for two weeks which I am looking forward to tremendously. Once school resumes however, I am officially in year 12 and therefore starting my HSC. It's crazy how fast time flies.

Shopping day with Emma in the city

I finished my maths exam at 10:30 this morning, so I spent the rest of the morning shopping at MidCity and the Pitt street Westfield with my sister Emma. I am currently in the process of finding an outfit to wear to the Topshop opening but unfortunately I didn't find anything today. Alas, I bought a new blazer and some lovely jewellery.

But perhaps more exciting was the completely unexpected discovery Emma and I made in the form of the new Ladurée store outside Mulberry on the designer level of Westfield. I have been in love with Ladurée since I first discovered it in Paris a few years ago. I remember it fondly as it was the first place I successfully spoke French to a local and they understood me. After drooling over the gorgeous window displays, I was so excited to grab a box of Caramel à la fleur de Sel (salted caramel) macarons but I was unwilling to wait in the extremely long line that curled around the entire store. Unfortunately, I will have to wait a couple of weeks to satisfy my Ladurée craving!

In the way of purchases, I bought this bright pink blazer at Cotton On for $49.95 and I love it! I have a fairly monochromatic wardrobe and this blazer definitely brightens up my wardrobe. The fabric is nice and light, so I'll be able to wear it during the summer months as well as during winter. Plus, I can wear it with tonnes of outfits.

Since summer is on it's way, I wanted to get some nice jewellery that I could wear all summer long. I headed over to Sportsgirl because they always have really amazing pieces at pretty decent prices. I picked up this beautiful anklet that is decorated with a few blue beads and have not taken it off all day. I always tend to associate anklets with summer and the beach, which is where I will be wearing this one for sure.

The other accessory I bought from Sportsgirl was this really delicate and simple cross bracelet. I have this random obsession with cross jewellery and when I saw this I had to have it. I love how elegant it is and that it is simple enough for everyday wear.

All in all, a successful shopping day!
