Hello lovelies, I am so sorry for being MIA over the past week or so! I have been busy studying/procrastinating in preparation for my exams which are this week. But I absolutely promise to be more efficient and on the ball with my blog once my exams finish next week.
Once my holidays start I will be posting a lot more frequently! I have a few ideas for beauty posts, travel posts and outfit posts, so keep posted. Also, I will be attending the grand opening of Sydney's first Topshop store at the beginning of October so look out for my post on that. I am expecting that it will be an amazing event and I am so excited. Even though I haven't found the perfect outfit yet, I am hopeful I will find something amazing. After my exams next week I will be running around the city trying to find the perfect dress. Fingers crossed my mission is successful!
Recently, I have become absolutely obsessed with Polyvore! It allows me to express my creativity and it inspires me. You can check out my page here and just so you know, I follow back everyone who follows me :)
Lots of love and I promise to be on more frequently at the end of my exam period!
Kisses,
Phoebe x

{Good enough to eat}
Top: Bonds
Skirt: Witchery [with satin ribbon sewn on]
Heels: Steve Madden
Ring: Diva
Candy Bracelets: 'How Sweet' candy store at Birkenhead Point Outlet
Nail colour: 'Super Bossa Nova' by Essie
On Saturday night I attended one of my oldest and closest friend, Courtney's 17th birthday party. The theme was Candyland, so I opted for a liquorice all-sort looking skirt (made by my fabulous mother) and lots of sparkle! The idea for a liquorice all-sort skirt came to me randomly one night and I am glad I went with it. It's safe to say I was the only liquorice all-sort there. The candy anklet and bracelets seemed quite necessary to me as they doubled as candy and an accessory, so it was a bit of a win-win there.
And how fabulous are these Steve Madden heels?! They were a bit of an impulse buy, but I am so glad I bought them! Totally worth the $130 I forked out to get them for Katy Perry's concert last year. They are surprisingly comfortable and the pale gold colour allows me to wear them with a huge range of outfits. The only downside is that the heel height is about 13cm, (but luckily the platform takes a few centimetres off the overall height), which makes me tower over nearly everybody! Alas, it is only a minor downside and I am wiling to sacrifice my semi-normal height and look like a behemoth for one night if I get to wear them. They make me feel amazing and my legs also look even longer than usual when I do.
I tried to make my nails fit in with the stripey theme I was going for. I think it could have gone better; I was in a bit of a rush to do them, hence the slight smudges you can see. However, I love the pink colour I used! I've been wanting to try it out for ages and am thrilled I was finally able to. I can honestly say it is one of my new favourite shades. Essie nail polishes are just divine and I seriously cannot get enough of them!
The party was an absolute blast! There was so much amazing food, as you can see in the above photo, all made by the birthday girl herself. I had so much fun!

Social {Nice and Girly}
On Friday night, I attended a Social with the girls in my grade at school. When I went shopping for the event, I was instantly drawn to this dress. So simple, so elegant and so me! I decided to keep my whole look really girly and simple. I think my dress was more suited for a Formal rather than a Social, but I wore it anyway and love that i did!
This event was so much fun and I had a blast! I met a tonne of new people and it was just an all-round fun night! Plus, the venue was amazing! It was better than I was expecting it to be.
Of all the nights for my suburb to black out, of course it happened on the night of Social! I was just about to blow dry my hair when all the power went out and would not come back on. I did my make up sitting in front of a mirror near the window, because that's where I could get the most light. I even managed to put on my fake eyelashes successfully! After I did my make up in the dark, Emma, my mum and I loaded up the car and drove to my grandmother's house in Mosman, as their suburb wasn't affected by the blackout. I was able to dry my hair, straighten it and get dressed there and we made it to the Social about 30 minutes late but no one was inside yet. Me and 249 others had to stand on the sidewalk of Double Bay in the cold and wind for another half hour. Not fun, but once we got in, it was well worth the wait!

Today I hung out at the local oval for the Moocooboola Festival. It is an annual festival and I have been going for as long as I can remember. Moocooboola is an Aboriginal term that means "the meeting of waters." This is because the Hunter's Hill peninsula is bordered by the Lane Cove River and the Parramatta River. These two rivers meet and flow into Sydney Harbour at the end of the peninsula. Hence, "the meeting of waters."
The festival is always fun and I see heaps of local people that I know. I went up relatively early to meet up with my grandmother, my uncle, my aunt and some of my cousins to see my younger cousin dance. I can't say it was the most entertaining performance ever, but they did a good job for 5 year olds, especially in front of such a large crowd. It did feel weird to be cheering on a dance school other than my own though! Even though we don't compete against them or are associated with them in any way, it was still a bit strange for me.
I went up again an hour later to meet up with a few of my friends and some of their friends who I know relatively well. We hung out in the grandstand, ate food, chatted and just hung out. It was a pretty chilled day, which was nice.

When it comes to dress codes, casual isn't the easiest one for me to abide by. More often than not I will be the most dressed up person in the room. However, it doesn't phase me.
For these kind of events, I find a fairly monochromatic colour scheme to be the best option. This is mainly due to the fact that you can wear any colour accessories with a black and white ensemble.
